Overview
The Third Periodical Test in MTB (Mother Tongue-Based) for Grade 1 in the Department of Education is a summative assessment given to evaluate the students’ knowledge, skills, and understanding of the different concepts and competencies taught in the MTB subject. The test is typically administered at the end of the third quarter or semester of the academic year.

The scope and coverage of the Third Periodical Test in MTB for Grade 1 may include the following topics:
Pag-unawa sa Binasa – This covers the students’ comprehension and analysis of different types of texts, such as stories, poems, and non-fiction materials, written in their mother tongue.
Pagsasalita – This includes the students’ ability to express themselves orally in their mother tongue, such as engaging in conversations, giving instructions, and narrating stories.
Pagsulat – This covers the students’ ability to write in their mother tongue, such as composing short sentences, paragraphs, and stories.
Pagbigkas at Pagbabaybay – This includes the students’ ability to pronounce and spell words correctly in their mother tongue.
Wika at Kultura – This covers the students’ understanding of their own culture and traditions, as well as their knowledge and appreciation of the different cultures and traditions in the Philippines.
The Third Periodical Test in MTB for Grade 1 may include various types of questions, such as multiple-choice, true or false, matching type, and short-answer types. The test is designed to assess the students’ understanding, application, and internalization of the different aspects of their mother tongue and culture. The test is administered by the classroom teacher and is based on the MTB curriculum and learning competencies set by the Department of Education.
