Grade 3 Matatag Summative Tests: Free Download for Teachers
As a public school teacher in the Department of Education, I know how challenging it can be to prepare assessment tools that align with the new curriculum. These tests are based on the MATATAG Curriculum implemented by DepEd starting SY 2024–2025.

What Are Grade 3 Matatag Summative Tests?
The Grade 3 Matatag Summative Tests are quarterly assessment tools developed in line with the MATATAG Curriculum, which stands for “MAkabuluhan, TAyak, TApos at Ganap na Balik-Aral.” This initiative aims to simplify and strengthen the basic education curriculum in the Philippines by focusing on essential learning competencies.
Summative assessments are given after a set of learning objectives has been taught. They help evaluate how well students have mastered the topics and skills. In the MATATAG system, these summative tests play a vital role in ensuring that teachers can monitor learners’ progress more accurately while reducing their workload.
Why Use Matatag-Aligned Summative Tests?
Here’s why teachers across the Philippines should start using Grade 3 Matatag Summative Tests:

These summative tests strictly follow the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) identified under the MATATAG Curriculum. Each item is designed to measure not just recall but also understanding, analysis, and application.
