Understanding Heat Index
The heat index, often referred to as the “feels-like” temperature, combines air temperature and relative humidity to indicate how hot it feels to the human body. Unlike the actual air temperature, the heat index provides a more accurate representation of thermal comfort. It is measured using specific formulas that account for both temperature and humidity levels, offering a comprehensive understanding of the environmental conditions.
